Magnesium Anode

Magnesium anode is used as a sacrificial anode in cathodic protection. This type of anode has high chemical activity, its electrode potential is rather negative, and the driving voltage is quite high. Besides, magnesium anode is difficult to form effective protective film on the magnesium surface. In water medium, the protective film is easy to dissolve, and the magnesium self-corrosion is quite strong. Therefore, if it is placed within a system that uses large amounts water, it attracts the corrosion away from other components.

    Advantage

    The most common metals used in the manufacture anodes include zinc, aluminium and magnesium.

    The magnesium anode is characterized by small density, big theory electric capacity, low potential negative polarization rate and large driving voltage for iron and steel.

    Application

    Magnesium anodes are effective and affordable for Anti-corrosion of buried pipeline buried pipeline, onshore platform, huge boiler and steel structures in salt and fresh water, Including:
    Hulls of ships and various other boats; Water storage tanks; Piers, docks, and wharfs; Pipelines; Heat exchangers, etc.

    Corroco is the approval Mg anode manufacturer of ARAMCO, its Pure Mg anode, Mg-Mn anode, Mg-Al-Zn anode are widely used in pipeline, tank protection of the world.
